Garlicky-Mushroom Sauce

Ingredient list

2 tsp. olive oil 2 cloves garlic, minced Salt and pepper 4 cups sliced mushrooms 1 tsp. dried thyme 2 ½ cups vegetable, chicken or beef broth

Preparation

- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the mushrooms and garlic and cook for 3-5 minutes, until the mushrooms are soft and releasing natural juices. Add the thyme and cook 1 minutes, until fragrant. Add the broth and bring to a simmer. Partially cover the pan and simmer 10 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Notes

Super over mashed potatoes, couscous, and grilled or roasted chicken, pork, beef and fish. For added flavor add ¼ cup dry sherry when you add the broth.
